Core Aeration
Regular aerating of your lawn is one of the single most beneficial things you can do for the lawn. The act of removing the cores or plugs as they are sometimes referred to, exposes the lawns roots and beneficial bacteria to fresh oxygen. Depending on the time of year other benefits include:
IN THE SPRING:
-Reduces soil compaction, helps get oxygen, water & fertilizer directly to the root zone, creates drainage for excess water, Naturally discourages opportunistic broadleaf weeds like dandelions that love compacted soil.
IN THE FALL:
-Reduces soil compaction, Creates drainage to prevent soggy winter lawns and discourage moss growth
When aerating, the cores are always left on top of the lawn to break down naturally. This introduces the beneficial bacteria from the root zone on to the surface of the lawn to naturally break down thatch and moss.
